Critters on Late Boneset, 2019

(Eupatorium serotinum)

In the late summer of 2019, when they still let the medians of Columbus Boulevard get overgrown with wildflowers, Late Boneset was a major food source for the local insects. One particularly large plant across from the Best Buy, between Columbus and where the truck lane becomes what is left of Delaware Avenue, was the hottest spot in the area. It was swarming with critters. Sometimes up to seven species could be seen on it at once. I spent a lot of time there over the course of a week or two, sweating profusely and taking hundreds of shots. This collection represents what I considered the best of those shots.
